Boil for 15 -20 minutes and simmer until ready.
Over cook the barley just a bit so it is very tender. Allow to cool.
Preheat oven to 375 Place barley, dates, coconut butter, baking powder in cuisinart and blend until it is a thick dough substance.
Place barley dough in large bowl and add blackstrap molasses, grated yam, grated carrot, chopped walnut, chopped almonds, dried cranberry, and raisins blend ingredients evenly.
Apply coconut butter to hands. Using a Tablespoon, scoop the dough and place in hands and roll evenly then pad the dough down in hands to shape the cookie and place on cookie sheet.
Note: These cookies will bake in the same shape they are placed onto the sheet.. they will not melt into shape like a chocolate chip cookie..
Bake cookies for about 20 min or until golden brown. Wait until cool and place in a container and keep in fridge to keep them fresh. These cookies will stay fresh for 3 weeks as long as they are refrigerated.
My dogs Love these cookies as well, so your horses and dogs can share.. I have tried them before I fed them to my horses and they aren’t bad!
I also heard from a few clients they enjoyed them as well.. So they make a healthy treat for the whole family! ENJOY!!!!
